Bloggin' @ The Blythswood

Hi guys! We are well into the Christmas count down, are you all set or festively running late? I hope you all had a fab weekend, I had an overnight stay at the Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow and you know I just had to take you guys with me! I know you have been requesting places to stay in Glasgow so lets start here..

After a long day at work on Friday, Dean and I were more than looking forward to our overnight. Check in was at 3 however we didn't check in till 6 due to work. Approaching the hotel in the car, it's stunning! A great building and piece of architecture. The hotel offers valet service but with us being a little bit later than planned, we parked outside the hotel. There are plenty of spaces if you don't want to take the valet service which is great if you are driving. If you are arriving by train, both Queen Street and Central Station are about a half mile walk, if that's not for you, you can hop in a taxi! The reception area is the first thing you see inside a hotel and the Blythswood is perfectly chic. They have two velvet seating caves which I was just obsessed with - amazing!! Service with a smile at the desk as we waited a few moments for our room key.

We were staying in a superior room which ticked all the boxes; cosy, modern and had every amenity you need. We were greeted in the most warmest manner with this little sweet tray and message. It was a little gesture which was priceless, it set us up for the amazing night ahead of us. I loved the set up of the room, seating at the front of the bed, plenty of storage room for longer stays, flat screen and a well packed mini fridge. The bed was a dream, unbelievably soft and feathery. The bathroom was floor to wall marble - obsessed! Some hotels offer you bath with a shower above or sometimes just one or the other. The Blythswood lived up to its 5 star rating and had both as well as a vanity area with every necessity. The room was faultless in every way. The only thing we had a small issue with was trying to work the air con which we really should have asked about so that's a fault on our part. Stunning room!

We had a reservation in the restaurant for 7.30. Another warm welcome upon arriving and led straight to our table. We had a spacious booth which we loved, big but very intimate. The restaurants general mood was chic and elegant. In view of the cocktail bar and the staff making them adds modern edge. We had water along with a choice of bread and butter whilst our drinks were being made. Being the low key queen I am(lol) I asked for a bahama mama, a cocktail which wasn't on the list but the staff went out their way to make one up for me. Situations like that really make you feel special and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we both felt that way. After ordering our starters, we were brought over amuse bouche. Imacculately presented and equally as tastey. I oredered the Blythswood prawn cocktail and Dean had scallops with tiny chicken wings which were delicious! For my main I had stake fritties with pepercorn sauce - medium well. Dean had the fillet with chips and honey veg - medium. Both dishes were simply amazing - so amazing that we had no room for desert. Overall, the restraunt exceeded itself, a different class! Special mention to the restraunt manager Steven for his flawless hospitality, true professionalism.

We decided to finish off the night in the hotel bar 'The Salon'. With a winding staircase leading up to this hip bar, the 5 star class shines through. Again, intimate seating which we both loved and outstanding service. We had two complimentary glasses of fizz and decided to get a little experimental with our drinks. Other than when were at tgi's, we aren't familiar with cockatails. The staff paid attention to detail to find out what we like, what type of flavours and were able to offer what they thought we would have liked. Great suggestions which were warmly received, not so much by our heads the following morning...

Having ordered our breakfast the night before, it arrived right on time at 9am. Looking back at these pictures make me feel hungry, it was scrumptious. You can go downstairs to the breakfast buffet, but we much prefer our home comforts and nestled on the seats at the bottom of the bed - cheers!

After breakfast we got into our swimming attire and headed to the award winning spa. The reception was so serene, we couldn't wait to try the thermal experience. With different rooms to take your body through a whirlwind of temperatures and awaken your senses, I can't think of a better way to start off the day. If I could do this everyday I would, it was the best thing about our stay. We both left so relaxed and energized, the perfect end to a magnificent stay. I'd like to add how clean the spa is, there wasn't a single bit that was anyway dirty.

I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It has something for everyone and in great location in Glasgow. In the ever changing and popular City of Glasgow, this hotel is a hotspot and quite rightly. The Salon bar alone hosts a bustle of people at weekends. With the hotels popularity, if I had to con anything it would be the lifts - due to its popularity you could wait a few minutes unless you take the stairs which is much easier. But if that is the only con because of how busy it is, it is totally etched out. Flawless start to finish! I know some of my readers are coming to Glasgow for certain Hydro concerts, just to make you aware, this hotel offers dinner and a bus to and from your concert for £25 which I'm completely blown away with. A fantastic price for the quality of food you receive believe me. I'd like to thank Fiona for looking after us and the high standard of professionalism she gave us, you are a star!!

Well guys there you have it, for everyone that was interested, check out the website for anything further you would like to know. Trust me, you will be more than looked after at this hotel! I will be back later on in the week with a new post but for now, have a great day! Until next time..

Foundation Hall of Fame

Hello my loves!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend, I know I did. A week on Friday until I am in sunny Barcelona, can't wait for it. I have received emails asking what brands I will be wearing, what do I take with me when I travel so I will be doing a 'what's in my suitcase' post and I have quite a few gems in store! Now on to today, highlight may have became the most important part of make up routines but we all need a good base. I have the who's who of foundations, both high end and high street, I've tried and tested most out there so I've decided to rack up what I like, what I didn't and what I have in mind to buy(hopefully in Barcelona)!! So if you are planning on buying a new foundation, let's get started..

GIORGIO ARMANI LUMINOUS SILK
After using this for the first time, I don't want to be without it! This foundation is one that has a lot of hype, which doesn't always make it good which I will explain later, but this was worth the hype and more - it's amazing!!! It goes on soo smoothly, it's build able and really does feel like silk as cheesy as it sounds. Its a favourite amongst the Kardashians who wear it with nearly every make up application, especially Kim, but it's also been used on many campaigns and catwalks. It does have a hefty price tag and unless something is worth it, I personally think anything over £25 is unjustifiable for foundation. With that said, this is 100% worth the money, the bottle lasts for ages and I swear once you use it, you won't want to wear ANY other foundation. It can be an everyday foundation for sure as it is build able, but if you would rather keep it for special occasions too, then that's perfectly fine. So guys this is my number 1 high end foundation - flawless!!

ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR
As I've mentioned before, I have combination skin. I normally feel my skin can go dryer when the weather changes and like everyone else, when I'm in the heat, my skin needs to hydration! This foundation was hyped up, everyone was raving about it so before I went to Vegas a few years back I bought this as soo many people told me it was fantastic - it so let me down. I was so frustrated that I paid what I did for it and was absolutely disappointed with it. I felt it went on cakey as if my face was dirty, after being on for about an hour, it started going the horrible greasy/shiny way even after applying powder. After trying it that once in Vegas and being let down, I thought I'd try it at home and give it a second chance but again I just didn't like it. Don't get me wrong, I know a few girls who wear it and it looks lovely, but they have the lighter shades so I'm not sure if it's the darker shades that look cakey. I know people still rave about it so I don't want to put anyone off, but for me, I was disappointed with it.

URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN
I had a sample of this foundation and I was so pleasantly surprised with it that I bought it. Again, it's build able, if I'm having a down day when I can't really be bothered doing a full face, this is what I go to. One layer gives me a nice glow and it's pretty perfect. I'm pretty sure this doesn't have an spf, so just be cautious if you wear it on holiday etc but it really is such a nice foundation. They have a lot of shades with different undertones for whatever your skin needs. I got this for under £20, great price for a higher end product.

MAX FACTOR 3 IN 1
Do you every have one of those days when you really can't be bothered doing all the steps one after another, this foundation makes everything possible in one application. I bought this thinking it would save me time, thinking I would use it on down days but I was pleasantly surprised. It gives my skin a nice glow which I love and a dewy finish. If I ever have a little spot or have the redness after one, this covers it completely without having to use any concealer. It became a favourite in my family with my mum and sister, it's just so good. I went through a stage of using this all of the time. My sister has dry skin and it soothes that so beautifully and has an amazing finish. So happy with this, its one of my number 1 high street foundations, give it a try I know you will all love it girls!!

LOREAL TRUE MATCH
You can go wrong with this foundation, it is absolutely amazing value for money and my other number 1 high street foundation. They have a shade for everyone literally, you can get it in pretty much every country, it's been used on the catwalks and can stand beside any higher end foundation. It's build able, it has great coverage and it lasts all day. I always find myself going back to this one and I'm not mad about it. If your on a budget this is a must, I will forever be obsessed with this!

ILLAMASQUA SKIN BASE
I had a small sample of this foundation some time ago and I loved the finish. You guys know in a huge fan of illamasqua so I'm pretty surprised that I haven't bought a big bottle of this yet, so I'm going to mark this down on my wish list. They have a hall of different shades, you will be stuck for choice and if you are someone who buys a lighter shade but wear darker when you have done your tan, they do give you a little mix which I think is great. I've never been at an illamasuqa stand where they haven't went the extra mile. Great price and even better product!!

MARC JACOBS RE(MARC)ABLE FOUNDATION
This is one for my wish list, I haven't used it before but I've heard nothing but praises for it. So I can't really comment much on this, but when I'm in Barcelona I will be picking up a sample from Sephora to see what I think about it. I am very weary as I'm not the biggest fan of Marc Jacobs perfume so I'm hoping this isn't a let down.

Have you guys tried any of these foundations? What is your favourite foundation, on my list or not? I have only squeezed a few into this post as I could be here all day naming them all and giving my opinion so feel free to ask me about a foundation and I will let you know what I think. I have a new Instagram competition starting soon so stay tuned! Have a great day guys, until next time..

May Favourites

Hi guys! Hope everything is good. Apologies for no second post last week, it was my birthday on Thursday so I took a few days away from social media to spend time with the people I love, that's what it's all about really. Thanks to my readers who took the time to wish me well on my birthday also. Now I'm back and I've rounded up my May favourites for you guys so let's get started!
YSL TOUCHÉ ECLAT FOUNDATION
First up I have a new foundation. Now this foundation is for ANY skin type, it's full coverage, has colossal staying power whilst feeling weightless on the skin. I managed to get myself a bottle and I'm so so impressed, it may actually be my new holy grail. Its quite runny, so a little goes a long way. It makes my face look radiant which I love rather than sweaty or shiny. It is a higher end product, I'm sure boots have it just now at £32.50 so it is pretty expensive but the bottle will last forever. However I have a little tip for you guys. My friend works with YSL and their beauty counters have little sample bottles so even go to your nearest counter and ask for a sample. The bottle is actually a good size and as I said the foundation is quite runny so the sample would last about 3 weeks. Always ask at these counters for the samples especially if you are going to pay a fair amount for something. With that said, I know this foundation will be a hit with you all, it seriously is amazing!

SUNKISSED ONCE A WEEK TAN
Now you guys know I'm all about the fake glow. I've tried pretty much every tan out there from the high end to the high street. I buy sunkissed from superdrug, I've always been a fan of the brand however for everyone asking, over the last few months I've been using the once a week tan and I can do nothing but sing its praises! It has the staying power you need for the week and doesn't fade off the patchy way which I'm sure you girls can relate to. It doesn't have the biscuity smell, the smell is actually quite pleasant! It has a guide colour to ensure a streak free application, it leaves you with a beautiful natural glow, seriously it's absolutely amazing!! I think it was like £5 or something so it's 100% purse friendly. I've got tan in my collection that I've paid £40 for and it couldn't stand beside this. Obsessed with this, will be glowing in this in Barcelona next month.
MAKE UP REVOLUTION BRONZER, HIGHLIGHT AND BLUSHER
I picked up this little palette last month and have been putting it to the test. Again I have all the who's who of contour palettes and I've been pleasantly surprised with this one. The bronzer is a dupe for Benefits hula, the highlight is similar to the Mary Lou and the blusher compliments both very well. You can get them in different shades, I have the darker one just because I'm normally tan but I'm going to get the lighter ones for down days when I'm a bit paler. I'm actually going to do a superdrug haul on Friday because there is so many brands which are actually fantastic and even though they are cheap in price, they can stand beside the high end brands. Anyway, this gets a thumbs up, I think I paid about £3 for this or something, absolute bargain!

NYX LIP LINGERIE
I've spoke about NYX before and you guys know I absolutely love the brand. The lip creams have forever been a favourite of mine and I'm loving the lip lingeries. They go on so smooth and dry flawlessly. There are a ton of shades so there is one for everyone! They are a god send to the UK, we need to ship from elsewhere to get our ABH or Gerard cosmetics fix but NYX make amazing lip colours possible for us and the prices are so reasonable. I have 'baby doll' and its stunning!! Going to get a few more for my Barcelona glam. I'm including one in my free Instagram giveaway so don't forget to check it out!!! @kerryobyrne

Let me know if any of you guys have tried these or if you do! I've been loving these products for the last few months and I think they will be staying for a while!! Have a fantastic day guys, until next time..

Summer Essentials Volume 2

Hello my loves! My kitchen will be finished today - woohoo!!! Can't wait to get back to normal living. A few of you have asked for before and after pictures so I will definitely post them up. As I promised, I'm going to do these summer essential posts to introduce you to brands just in time for summer. I'm currently stocking up for Barcelona and will be using these brands. So you have seen volume 1, here is number 2..

STAND OUT IN HOT MIAMI STYLES
Came across this brand a little over a year ago and been hooked ever since! One thing I want to address, I know a lot of girls who go onto ebay and see the latest styles at cheap prices and buy them, but then realize its a very poorly made replica. Hot Miami Styles have the absolute latest styles that you won't find ANYWHERE in the UK and especially not on ebay. The clothes are true to size and look the way they are supposed to. Don't fall into the ebay trap, make sure you are spending your money on quality. I love going on this website and making up a wishlist which I can then purchase after payday. The shipping prices are very reasonable and the clothing prices in general are fantastic. They have absolutely everything covered, you could buy your full vacation wardrobe on this site alone. If you haven't checked them out girls, its a must! I have the website saved on my favourites, obsessed!!!

HIT THE BEACH IN JADE CLARK
A few girls have messaged me looking for new, out there bikini's and swimsuits for pool parties and the first person I think of is Jade Clark. I stalk the instagram page, I literally love everything she posts! The bikini's are so different and will definitely separate you from the rest. She has so many different styles and prints you will be spoilt for choice! I just love everything this brand stands for, its quirky, its out there and Jade is a definite trail blazer in fashion. I'm going to buy a piece for Barcelona once I decide what will go with my red hair. She doesn't just do swimwear, she does clothing as well. Could go on about this brand until the cows come home but I think Jades work more than speaks for itself. All the amazing-ness you could wish for, check her out girls!!

MAKE A STATEMENT IN SUPER SAVAGE
Pretty new to this brand, but I love, love, love what they stand for. Such an innovative brand making a statement. Its like your thoughts on clothes, they are fabulous! You guys know my style by now, I love all things different and out there and these guys definitely have my vibe. Not sure how long they have been around for but I know they are going to be huge! Their hats are perfect for a bad hair/stay out of my way kind of day. Prices are great, clothing even better. Check them out!!

WALK IN SARENZA
Wanted to squeeze this in to conclude. I love this website, I think they have something for all ages which not a lot of others do, they normally target one age group. Obviously you pull out the heels and wedges for night time, but during the day when your on holiday you want comfort. I normally wear a pair of flip flops or slip ons, but for example, the flip flops that go in between your big toe and 2nd toe, aren't my mums cup of tea. But whenever we order from this website, we always find styles for us both. Their range is fantastic and the prices are more than reasonable depending on the brand. They do heels as well which I also love. A definite option for holiday footwear, have a look!

There you have it guys, my volume 2! What brand above appeals to you the most? Also, what piece of clothing, including footwear, do you think is a must have to take on vacation? I would love to know! Have an amazing weekend guys, until next time!

Cop The Red Carpet - Billboard Music Awards

Hi my loves! Another day, another dollar right?! I'm in the middle of getting my kitchen ripped out and re-modelled so my house if you can imagine, is chaos - everything is everywhere, mini kitchen set up in the living room and what not so please excuse the fact I will be MIA, my wifi sometimes disconnects also which is a pain! Anyway, I made sure I watched the Billboard music awards red carpet so I could report back to you guys! As always, there was the fantastic and the foul, so lets have a look..

Starting off my best dressed, I have none other than Miss Zendaya! She wore next season Calvin Klein and doesn't she look bomb?! Love everything about this, the two piece fitted her body like a glove. I am crazy about the top, I think us small bust girls may have found a look which makes them look good right?! Its what I expected from Zendaya, she very rarely fouls on the carpet. Head to toe amazing-ness!! Love, loved it!!

Next up, pull through Kelly Rowland! I must admit, Kelly was never my favourite band member, but I think as the years have went on, she has came into her own a bit. This dress is insane!!!! The hair was perfect for it, just another perfectly executed look. The dress gave her the most enviable shape, Kelly for sure was my best dressed over all, I couldn't get over it once I seen her. **Applause**

Now do they not look like the most bad ass slayin' girl group alive at the moment???! Well, when your dressed by Michael Costello, I don't think you are going to do anything but slay! Head to toe these girls looked amazing, I love the fact they all had a different style of dress but they complimented each other so well. Plus, you guys know how much I love black, they are just amazing! Killing it ladies, Fifth Harmony is in town!!

Its different from her norm, but Rihanna looked flawless as expected. She wore a vintage Thierry Mugler dress with Manolo Blahnik mules. Again, the whole look was executed so well and I love the colour on her. Its a colour that probably wouldn't work with the average person, but this is Rihanna. The shoes are my favourite part, totally obsessed with them. Dear Santa, if you are reading, please drop a pair of these down the chimney :)!!! ..

Now this is a tricky one. I love all of Demi's look, minus the bodysuit. I think the lace part throws the look off. I know she is trying to go for the rock chick look, but I really don't think it works. I feel like a bralet on its own would have been better. That aside, I think she looks great in Chanel, the pant suit is a good look on her, so other than the bodysuit - she gets a thumbs up from me. Happy to see gloves back on the carpet!

I couldn't NOT mention the host, here she was wearing Phillip Plein. If you look back on my blog, I'm pretty sure Ciara has been featured in all of my red carpet favourites. Her body is absolutely off the scales, calves for days and the confidence she has for her body is so admirable. She could show up in her night gown and still look this amazing. Head to toe goddess!!

Starting off my worst dressed, 'its Britney b*tch'. Come on, does she still think this is in style?? She has been rocking this circus get up for years now and its so so so tired. Its a shame because now when I see her on carpets, I'm bored. She doesn't give me life, she puts me to sleep. I know her ride or dies will probably love this look but its 2016 and she isn't working the Vegas strip. If you've got it, flaunt it, but we've seen enough of it..

It pains me to include Jessica in my worst pile, especially when she is in Zuhair Murad, but I hated this combo. I see this look at the weekends in Glasgow - not glamorous in the slightest and I don't think it suits her in any way. Maybe its just my taste, but I don't think thigh highs go well with skater skirts. I'm not trying to say she is old, but I don't think the looked worked with her age either. Its like school disco if you get me? I love Jessica on the carpets but they got it wrong. Hoping she will revive herself next time!

I was so torn with this look. I like the suit, I hate the shoes and the tie. The black tie is so random, personally I would have opted out, because I think she looks like a bull fighter with it. The shoes are hideous, the colour does go with the embroidery on the suit but I would have liked a different style. I'm surprised that this is the way her stylist dressed a Gucci pant suit. I know Kesha's look normally is quite out there, and I'm so happy to see her back on the carpets, I just really feel like it could have been done better.

I have no idea who dressed David Guetta, but he looks like he has just crawled out of a bin somewhere. It wasn't a good look at all. I'm not saying he had to wear the full get up suit, but just something a bit more clean and polished especially when he is walking the carpet. Wasn't a fan of the hair being tied back either. Underwhelmed with him!

So who was your best & worst dressed?! Get in touch! Have an amazing day guys!
